Highlights in the Town of Bradford, Vermont

In 1809-10, here in Bradford, James Wilson constructed the first terrestrial and celestial globes made in the United States. Globes at that time were made in Europe and were too costly for most individuals or schools. His work is a remarkable example of Yankee ingenuity and perseverance.

Recreation in Bradford

Bradford is home to multiple recreation areas including the 443 acres at Wright's Mtn. /Devil's Den and 79.3 acres at Low-St. John Forest both of which contain miles of scenic recreations trails. Other parks include Ida Boch Park this scenic park overlooks the Waits River falls, Bandstand Park with views into New Hampshire's White Mountains, Elizabeth's Park is a castle-style playground with volleyball courts picnicking areas and restrooms, Oxbow Disc Golf Course located behind Oxbow High School, Memorial Field, Bubgee Landing, Depot Street Sanctuary offers ball fields, tennis courts, and boat launch into the Connecticut River.
