Planning Commission




The Bradford Planning Commission has 5 members appointed by the Selectboard for terms of 2 or 3
years. Their responsibilities are described in Vermont Statute. It is responsible for drafting the Town
Plan, Land Use Regulations, reviewing and/or preparing drafts of certain Town Ordinances such as the
Sign Ordinances. It is also responsible for providing an annual draft of the Capital Budget and Program
for the Selectboard. It addresses preferred sites for the installation of Solar Arrays and represents the
town on such matters with the Public Utility Commission. The Planning Commission has automatic
standing with the Agency of Natural Resources on Act 250 applications. It also recommends the Zoning
Administrator to the Selectboard.

The Commission also works with Two Rivers Ottauquechee Regional Commission. A representative is
appointed by the Selectboard to the regional commission. This commissioner works in concert with the
Planning Commission in representing the interests of the town with the regional commission.
